Introduction
Hello potential Shadow Hunters, welcome to our forum. Good luck with your application and we hope you soon become a member of our fair guild. However, before you apply, we should make a few things clear. Please take some time to read the following post carefully.
About Us
The Shadow Hunters (TSH) is a social guild that raids. We are not a raiding guild.
We've existed since The World of Warcraft was in open beta, and continuously since day one of release. We have among our members players with experience of every part of the game, from old-school 40-man Molten Core runs to Icecrown Citadel and beyond (or, we will once there's a beyond to run). We focus on PvE content, though many of us take part in PvP, from twinks right up to level 80. We have a lot of lower level characters, including players who've yet to reach the (current) level cap and many, many alts at nearly every level, so we still run low level content and instances, as well as level 80 content.
Our members cover a range of ages, but we consider ourselves to be a mature guild and behave accordingly. Well, most of the time. We are an English-speaking guild: you should be able to use the English language to create reasonable communication. Please keep the txtspk and childish behaviour to a minimum. Remember that "lol" is not punctuation, but feel free to use it if you really are. Don't be offended by the occasional swearing.
Guild rule number one is "Don't be a dick".
Raiding
TSH tends towards the casual end of the raiding spectrum; we have no requirements for our members to meet for experience, gear, level, class, role or talent builds. Raiding is open to all members and is not subject to attendence requirements. However, if you do raid with us, you will be expected to come prepared.
As of 2010 we're running the current 10 man content as a guild twice a week (Tuesday & Thursday, 09:00-00:00 server time). We don't have a set raiding team, nor do we distinguish between raiders and non-raiders - we're all just TSHers. Raids are planned using the in-game calendar and formed on the night based on the content of the raid and the balance of the group.
For further details about our current raiding situation and rules please see the following thread:
Raiding Information
Other activities
We like all members to read the forum to keep informed about guild activities and give their feedback on anything under discussion. While we rarely schedule any non-raiding events, members can usually be found running heroic instances for loot and profit, or normal instances/quests for levelling, or chasing achievements of all kinds, or PvPing in battlegrounds and arena teams. If you need a hand with anything, help can usually be found in the guild chat channel. However, please remember that even if people are around, they may not be available to help others or even following guild chat, so please don't take it personally if you don't get a response.
Most importantly, TSH does not exist to boost your toons. We are not a levelling or achievement service, and we are not at your beck and call. Be polite and be patient, otherwise you may be removed!
How to apply
First and foremost, ensure that you put some care, time and effort into your application or we may reject you immediately.
We're more interested in you, the person, than your character. We're big enough (and casual enough) that we're not looking for specific slots to fill. We believe that GearScore is fundamentally misleading, so we don't need to know yours.
Writing applications can be tricky, and we don't need your complete autobiography by any means. Simple stuff like where you're from, what you do in real life, and what you've done in WoW are all good starting points. If we need any more information we'll ask for it.
Post your application in this forum. If you haven't heard anything within a couple of days then feel free to bump your application or poke one of us in-game. Once you've had your invite, don't forget to say hello in this thread.
If accepted you'll be an initiate for a few weeks, then if you and we are all happy, you'll be a full member.
